Welcoming Dinner

Some of you have been bemoaning the lack of a Fresher's party, so FLAME responded. They'll basically be letting us throw a party for each other. Here's the info on that:

The PG students will be throwing a party/dinner for the UG students on September 17th. The UG students, likewise, will be throwing one for the PG students on the 23rd. The co-ordinating advisor will be Dr. Ravi Paturi, Dean of Research and Publications.

So here's what we'll have to do. We need to decide a dinner menu, a music play list since we'll be having a DJ and a dance floor, and entertainment. Now, we don't exactly have a lot of time, so no one is expecting something beyond cool. We'll go with a basic thing for this.

Bombay people, you guys are the unquestioned masters of party. HELP!

We will receive time on the 16th to talk as a class(UG) and on the 17th for PG.

I'll have more information on this as I get it.

EDIT 1: We've got rules people.

1. NO ALCOHOL
2. NO SMOKING
3. NON NON-VEG FOOD
4. NO HUKKAH/HOOKAH/HOWEVER YOU SPELL THE DAMN THING

Other than that, we're free to go.

EDIT 2: I apologize, the dates were changed, and I only just got that info. So the new dates are up on the post, and order of the dinners has changed.

Pranav,

The biggest doubt with most of the people would be regarding the funds for the parties. Is it going to be spent entirely by the college or do we need to chip in? In either of the cases, what is the kind of budget?

A great event can definitely be planned out subject to understanding the budget that we need to work with.

If possible, throw some light on this aspect as well.

well yes pranav you are right, bombay people do know how to party! well firstly it depends if we want a theme for the event or just anything will do. see its easy to plan the event and i would love to get in touch with other ppl who are interested in doin the same...ciao

Oh Arti and I are willing to help in whatever way we can.. Maybe we should start by dividing the work so that it would just become easier for everyone to manage their own..
For example, Aarti and I can take over the food and music and Hazel, i think its a really nice to plan a theme, so maybe you can get a group to think of a theme and the decor.

Lol.. We would love the help.. So i guess its divided then.. Food and Music vs. theme and decor right?
So then everyone can contact the necessary people to make everything work out..
Seems to me like things will work out well and this will be an interesting party to remember! lol...

Guys, the PG and UG parties are separate. So your class, your problem.

Pranav said...

This was completely left up to the classes. So you guys need to talk to each other, elect a co-coordinator and stuff.

Anything Rahul and I can help on, we will.

Here's what FLAME will provide for us:

1. Food, as long as the menu is prepared in advance and submitted to the kitchen folk.

2. A DJ

3. A place

Since this isn't exactly Prom Night, I doubt we'll need to fancy things up.

nirmit said...

but dude common its suppose 2 be a freshers party so its suppose 2 be fancy and gotta be wild...atleast like it would be in mumbai and not if in hyderabad...lol...

Ray Morningtown said...

Since there's absolutely no alcohol, what do you exactly mean by wild? I could define a couple but they're not gonna happen at FLAME. So do people intentionally go crazy at the parties in Mumbai? Is it exactly like what they show on Zoom Tv? Enlighten me.

no issues if there is no alcohol, but for the place there are loads of options available, but v need to know the budget and plus, is it kinda of a formal party or just the happening one type.....Formal would be a kind of Prom Nite....I am ready to help...lemme know where i can help.....

nirmit said...

okkk since we arent allowed with booze we can have a few fruit champagne bottles gettin opened up...just to know that we have come for a freshers party and not a funeral...and i'm sure most of them are gonna agree with me...

Pranav said...

Okay, as far as the budget is concerned, anything extra we want to do we'll have to pay for ourselves.

We'll have a chance to meet up on campus and discuss these things, so you don't have to do it here.

Hey count me in to.. Wld love to help out with the theme and decor..

Richa Sheth said...

Pranav.. i have the music ready.. in MP3 format.. if you could just tell me who the DJ is and everything then it would be easier for me to co-ordinate everything from my end!
